Blackboard

Students will be trained and using a software program called, BlackBoard. This software package will contain the information / content from the teacher. The BlackBoard software program will be the presentation software. Think of BlackBoard as the "old" overhead projector, the "old" blackboard, white board or the chalk board your parents had in their classroom.

The BlackBoard software will be computer driven and students will be able to access the content from the internet at home and at school. There will be a variety of features within BlackBoard to share the content in very engaging ways. The interactive format will increase content conversations, depth and complexity of discussions as well as a littel "fun factor" that will assist with the learning cycle.

Specific training and formal introduction to BlackBoard will take place the first two days of school during the DCHS Technology Conference. Students will receive their laptop computers on the second day of school for actual use and engagement with this program.
