Student Dress Code Information
To provide a professional atmosphere in keeping with the mission of John A. Dubiski Career High School, the following Standard Dress Policy shall be in effect for all students enrolled in or attending classes at Dubiski Career High School.
Acceptable Tops
• Blouses, sweaters, vests, ties and business jackets
• Shirts: collared polo-style or oxford-style dress shirts
• All shirts must have sleeves. Nothing sleeveless.
• All shirts must be collared and may have buttons or v-necks
• Sweaters: pull-over, turtle neck, or cardigan style.
• Males/Females-All shirts made to be tucked in must be tucked in. Shirts longer than the wrist must be tucked in.
• Logos on shirts must be 1 ½ inches or smaller.
• Solid colored undershirts may be t-shirts, turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks or collared shirts.
Acceptable Pants
• Dockers® or similar style pants and dress pants in khaki, navy, gray, brown or black.
• Pants are solid colors or pinstipes.
• Pants must be worn at the waist.
• All pants must be hemmed or cuffed
• All pants/capris must be no more than 2 inches above the ankle.
• Pant legs must be worn over boots. No pegging
• If pants have belt loops, a belt must be worn.
• Pants must have no more than 5 pockets (2 in front, 2 in back and a fob/watch pocket).
Acceptable Dresses and Skirts
• Skirts and dresses must be knee length or longer and hemmed.
• Dresses must have capped, short, three-quarter, or long sleeves.
Acceptable Outerwear
• All outerwear must be worn with an approved standard dress shirt and fit appropriately.
• Letter jackets and solid colored jackets of similar weight and style may be worn in the building. All other garments must be removed upon entering the building.
Acceptable Shoes, Socks, Belts, and Accessories for Young Men and Women
• Loafer –style shoes, dress shoes and dress boots.
• Solid white or black tennis shoes are permitted. Shoe laces must be worn and match shoes.
• Sandals that are business appropriate. Minimum one inch heel.
• Leather-like dress style or canvas style belts with a buckle no larger than a credit card.
• Socks, tights or hosiery if worn must be solid colored.
• Pierced jewelry is limited to the ears.
• Arm wear/jewelry is limited to no more than two bracelets or watches on each arm.
• Accessories that may be distracting in the classroom will not be allowed.
Special Needs Students
• Students who have special needs may apply for a waiver.
• Waivers will be evaluated and approved by the building
administrator.
Other Guidelines
• The campus administrator may designate spirit days and will determine what can be worn those days
• The Administration reserves the right to establish rules during the school year regarding new fashion in dress
including banning of certain articles of clothing if needed.
